In honor of the long-awaited arrival of spring, let’s talk about wedding parasols! We’re thrilled to welcome Amanda as an event assistant. She comes to Two Little Birds with a diverse background in events and marketing.
Amanda graduated from Saint Joseph’s University. She has previously worked as an event coordinator intern for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, planning their Pink Tie Ball and other fundraising events. Her day job is media planner.
In her free time, Amanda can be found running the Schuylkill River Banks or trying restaurants in the city. Her current favorite is Sampan. Amanda is also attempting to learn Italian. She loves being able to help make someone’s special day amazing, and her favorite part of a wedding is the first look.

We had a great time at the Love is in the Air event last night at the Horticulture Center. Stephen Starr Events and Uncommon Events created a truly beautiful evening.
There were a lot of great vendors on hand including artist Denise Fike, Love Me Do Photography, Maggpie Vintage Rentals, and Little Baby’s Ice Cream to name a few. There was also a Groom’s Lounge, complete with Tony Santana Cigar Rollers and Kinsey Whiskey from New Liberty Distillery. Artist Malinda Swain’s paper floral installation was the perfect backdrop for the fashion show featuring gowns from Lovely Bride and men’s looks from Commonwealth Proper.
Since their hashtag, #loveisintheair2015, was so heavily promoted, I thought it would be fun to share the event through the eyes of the attendees with some of my favorite photos from Instagram.

We first met Anthony Riley in 2010 at Amy and Joe’s wedding where he performed songs by the Temptations, Four Tops, and Michael Jackson alongside the DJ. He put on a killer performance and had all of the guests on their feet.
If Anthony looks or sounds familiar, it’s because he’s also a street performer who has been entertaining Philadelphians with his soulful voice in places like Reading Terminal Market and Rittenhouse Square for years. He was even recently awarded Best Street Performer by Philadelphia Magazine.
We’ve followed his musical journey on Facebook and were so excited when we saw that he would be auditioning on NBC’s “The Voice.” His blind audition, which aired on Tuesday night and can be viewed here, was amazing! He had all four judges push their buttons within the first few seconds of his performance. It was that good! He chose Pharrell as his coach, and we cannot wait to root him on this season! I’m loving everything about Steph and Tim’s Tyler State Park engagement shoot photographed by Carina of Love Me Do Photography! The colors, the fall foliage, the beautiful backdrops, and their sweet dog Rush!
